Zeta Chairman Attends Inauguration at Windsor Castle

Philip Shadbolt, Chairman CEO and Co-Founder of Zeta Specialist Lighting, was among those honoured with an OBE in the 2016 New Year Honours for his services to Business and Innovation.

Since its inception in 1989, Phil has driven Zeta from a small automotive controls enterprise into two thriving businesses; Zeta Specialist Lighting and Zeta Automotive. Philip’s dedication to the businesses and their staff is shown through the employees drive to do their best and accomplish company aspirations and goals alongside him: “Phil’s door is always open. He encourages new ideas and is instrumental in integrating fresh thinking into the business.” – Alex Collett, Zeta Specialist Lighting’s General Manager.

Phil's-Inauguration-April-2016Phil works closely with the R&D and Technical teams to develop and bring to market advanced products to meet the needs of Zeta’s customer base and the wider LED and Solar markets. He personally completes patent applications to protect the company’s many innovative new products. In 2015 alone two new patent applications were registered, for two pioneering technologies, meaning that Zeta now holds over 20 design registrations.

Working as a key member of several local enterprises, Phil is bringing Zeta’s energy saving products and values to the Cherwell Valley, whilst also guiding Zeta Specialist Lighting to achieve huge amounts within the lighting industry including many awards and large contract wins, as well as rapidly growing the business year on year.

On Wednesday 13th April Phil, along with members of his family, attended his inauguration at Windsor Castle. HRH Queen Elizabeth II presented him, along with other recipients of MBEs, OBEs, CBEs and Knighthoods, with the humbling accolade.

Philip accepted the commendation with humility as ever: “I’m thrilled and honoured to be recognised in such a way. I’m very proud of Zeta’s successes and achievements over the years. All of which wouldn’t have been possible without the backing of a great team.”

The whole team is extremely proud of Phil and his achievements and are looking forward to further new developments and successes in the future under his stewardship.

Congratulations Phil!
