Zeta’s Managing Director takes a look back at 2018

Zeta’s Managing Director takes a look back at 2018

Before the year ends, Zeta’s Managing Director, Adrian Dennis takes a look back at the year Zeta has had, and gives you an insight on what to look forward for in the next coming year.

What has been your highlight of 2018 and why?

My highlight of 2018 was winning a contract to upgrade the lighting at an iconic landmark in London. We are excited to share more details next year but with both the building and legacy fittings being grade one listed it meant that the design work carried out had to meet with very stringent technical requirements. This has subsequently resulted in English Heritage approval for the Zeta retrofit solution we provided and I am delighted to have Zeta’s products lighting up such a historic location.

How has Zeta evolved since you have been here?

I have recently passed my 5th year anniversary with Zeta and my time here has been the most exciting and challenging for my career to date. Over the period, Zeta has grown significantly, developed new products and entered into sectors such as rail, street and amenity, signage and large-scale commercial projects. We have won awards such as an Elektra for Renewable Energy Design, British Sign & Graphics Association (BSGA) for Product of the Year, Bidfood Sustainable Supplier of the Year as well as Cherwell Business Awards for Innovation.

If you had to describe Zeta right now in 3 words, what would they be?

Innovative, Fun & Exciting

If you had to pick one Zeta product as a favourite – what would it be and why?

My favourite product has to be the SmartScape Heritage – which is now in situ in locations such as; Trafalgar Square, Bath, St Pancras, Windsor, Maidenhead and St. Andrews. The Heritage represents a sympathetic upgrade to LED in the most beautiful locations in the UK.

Any new trends in lighting you are particularly excited about?

The first trend I am excited about is the increasing demand in Solar lighting solutions to provide the greenest lighting and lowest carbon footprint. The second trend is the move towards Smart Cities, it is rapidly gathering pace and will be the biggest challenge our industry will face.

What should our customers look out for in 2019?

Zeta has a number of product launches and where I cannot disclose all, the first will be a solar powered lantern like no other that can be found on the market.
